Are your anti-scratch fold over mittens on the sleepsuit padded?

Our anti-scratch fold-over mittens are not padded but it’s double layer on the sleeve and double layer on the cover so effectively it’s 4 layers which provides some padded effect.

Do you only have zipped sleepsuits? We’re worried the zip will be uncomfortable for baby.

Our zippers are concealed at the neck for baby‘s comfort and safety. Additionally, the zippers are lined with our marshmallow-y soft bamboo fabric to ensure that baby is kept snug all night.

Do you have button sleepsuits?

Through our humble 5-years of motherhood, we have found that our littles ones were changed faster and with more ease with zipper sleepsuits. Also, we have noticed that zipper sleepsuits have more mileage in compared to button sleepsuits, where chances of the buttons tearing are higher. After all, we are all about practicality, functionality and mileage

How can I care for my bamboo garments / products?

We know that babies are messy, and they go through so many tiny pieces of clothing a day, so rest assured that our products can be fully machine washed. We strongly recommend following the washing instructions on the care labels of our clothing.

• Wash in cold water

• Machine wash in gentle cycle

• Air dry

• Do not bleach

• Do not tumble dry

• Do not dry clean

TGE Tip: To maintain our garments’ integrity, we recommend washing with similar colours, using a laundry bag and avoid washing with towels and other rougher items.​​

Fun Fact: Bamboo clothing gets softer and softer after every wash - bamboo fibres line up, rather than move out of position

Eczema & Bamboo​

What is Eczema?

The term ‘eczema’ is used interchangeably with ‘dermatitis’ and refers to inflammation of the skin. It is a highly individual condition that varies from person to person and comes in many different forms. In mild cases, the skin is dry, red and itchy; while in more severe cases, the skin may ooze, crust or bleed. The skin may also become infected following breaks in the skin caused by scratching.

There are many trigger factors which include heat (overheating of the skin), perspiration and dry environment. Emotional stress or anxiety may also trigger eczema. Exposure to certain chemicals (e.g. soaps, detergents, perfumes, or cosmetics), materials (e.g. wool or synthetic fibres), dust, sand and smoke also may trigger a flare-up.

In babies, eczema tends to occur at the front of the arms and legs, cheeks and scalp. However in older children, eczema occurs at the side of the neck, elbow creases and the back of knees.

Is bamboo clothing good for eczema babies?

Clothes made from bamboo fibers are also eczema-friendly. It's a soft, smooth and breathable material that is more absorbent than even organic cotton. Bamboo clothing is also hypoallergenic and has anti-bacterial properties. Additionally, designed with cross-sectional fibers, our bamboo fabric is able to regulate the temperature between baby and the air, keeping little ones cool in hot weather and warm and snug in cooler temperatures.

How do I prevent eczema flare-ups?

Eczema is a chronic condition that fluctuates in terms of severity, where it sometimes improves and worsens. Some people can have no symptoms for many years. It cannot be cured, but symptoms can be controlled with moisturizers, topical and oral medicines, and self-care measures such as avoiding trigger factors and keeping the affected areas clean, dry and moisturized.

How can I soothe my child's eczema? 

Bamboo fabric is recommended for people with eczema and sensitive skin due to the silky soft and smooth fibers that feel cool to the touch. Rough and scratchy fabrics such as polyester, nylon and wool have frayed threads that may irritate sensitive skin. Bamboo fabric is also anti-bacterial and hypoallergenic which prevents bacteria from thriving (which also keeps bad odors at bay).

 

In Singapore, humidity is the main cause of eczema flare-ups. Bamboo fabric is also able to wick moisture from baby's skin 4 times faster than cotton, leaving your baby's skin cool and dry. Less sweat means less eczema flare-ups means a happy baby.

What does OEKO-TEX® certified mean?

The OEKO-TEX® label is the most comprehensive label used globally to certify that every component of a product is healthy and free from high levels of over 100 harmful substances known to be dangerous to humans and the environment. That means every button, zipper, lining, and even coatings used in our finished products are separately tested for the same chemicals. This is important because when we wear a piece of clothing or sleep in bedsheets, any toxic substances they were treated with can be absorbed into our bodies. 

 

Are your bamboo essentials OEKO-TEX® certified?

Yes, you can rest assured that all our bamboo products are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100. The OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certification means that products are OEKO-TEX 100 Class 1 Baby certified and free from any harmful chemicals or substances.

Is bamboo clothing sustainable?

As a plant, bamboo checks many of the right boxes. It’s fast-growing, requiring only natural rainfall to thrive. Bamboo doesn’t need nasty pesticides or fertilizers to grow. Bamboo also releases 35% more oxygen into the air compared to trees of the same size. It even helps to improve soil conditions and prevent soil erosion.

What are the benefits of bamboo?

1. Natural bamboo fabric produced without added chemicals and is hypoallergenic, making it safe for those with eczema-prone and sensitive skin. 

2. Bamboo is also known for its antibacterial and UV protection properties. 

3. Bamboo naturally absorbs moisture from the skin and is able to speedily wick away the moisture, up to 4 times faster than cotton, keeping the skin cool and dry on hot and humid days in Singapore.

4. The structure of the bamboo fibres contains micro-gaps, which provide ventilation and evaporates moisture that causes bacteria to multiply

5. Bamboo's thermoregulating properties make it great fabric for babies who are not able to regulate their body temperature yet. 

6. It’s soft, silky, and luxurious to the touch. It’s more stretchy and durable than cotton, while still being highly breathable. 

7. Although bamboo fabric is much thinner than its cotton counterpart, but has the same or greater tensile strength. This is because it is easy to weave this bamboo fiber into fabrics with high thread counts.

8. Bamboo takes only half the time to dry compared to cotton clothes.

When can I expect to receive my order?

Orders are dispatched within 3-5 days of your order and payment. It will take another 1-3 days for our courier to deliver it to your doorstep. 
*Delivery times may be extended during certain peak holiday seasons (eg. Christmas etc).​

I'm ordering this as a gift for a loved one. Do you provide gift wrapping?

Yes, we provide complimentary gift wrapping in a kraft gift box. Do let us know that your order is a gift and we'll pack your order in a gift box and include a complimentary greeting card with your personalised message to go along with the gift. You can indicate your message to the recipient at check out. ​And rest assured that no pricing or order details will be included in any online purchases.

What are the payment modes that you accept?

We accept credit card payment and PayNow.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes, we offer free shipping on orders $99 and above. For orders less than $99, a flat fee shipping & handling charge of $3.99 is applicable.​

How do I track my package delivery status?

If your package has not been received more than 7 working days after our estimated delivery times, please get in touch with us with your order number and we will help you check on the package status. ​

 

Can I combine my orders from By This Mom?

As each brand operates from separate fulfillment facilities, we are unable to combine shipping for By This Mom and The Green Edit to ensure efficient order processing and delivery. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but rest assured, we strive to provide the best service possible for each brand's unique offerings.

Returns & Exchange  

What if my items are damaged?

If the goods you have purchased have faults when they are delivered to you, please contact us via email within 7 days to arrange for collection and return / exchange. Goods must be returned in their original condition with all packaging and documentation. Replacements will be made upon receipt of the returned goods.​
 

What if my orders are incorrect?

If you receive goods which do not match those that you ordered, you should contact us via email within 7 days to arrange collection and return. In this instance. You will be given the option to have the goods replaced with those ordered (if available) or to be refunded through the payment method used when purchasing the goods. Refunds and replacements will be issued upon our receipt of the returned goods.
